Special Mommy Chronicles Quote

There are days where I feel I cannot see one more blister, one more sore area that won’t heal. But, what do I do? Run away? I’m the mom, I can’t leave. I am the only person this child has, and honestly, I love him so much, they would have to take me away kicking and screaming. ~Silvia Corradin from the book “Special Mommy Chronicles“   Post Views: 18

The Healing Power of Humor

This column that I wrote nearly 10 years ago is worth reposting. I taught my son to laugh at the silliest things from the time he was little. Yes, his life is horribly painful, but this kid can laugh!!! Enjoy! By Silvia Corradin From: Special Mommy Chronicles (Unpublished Column from July 6, 2006) The calendar in my computer room just taught me something today… it said: “A cheerful heart is good medicine.” King Solomon (Proverbs 17:22). It’s so true, too. After my son died and for many years after Nicky was born, I was incapable of watching any TV show that was too dramatic, it was only Friends & Seinfeld for me, and I loved Jay Leno! IRead More

Special Mommy Chronicles

This is my book!! It’s basically a compilation of columns I wrote in the early to mid 2000s. “Special Mommy Chronicles” was a featured site in Exceptional Parent Magazine‘s February 2003 issue. It was also featured as an on-going column in the Mahoning Valley Parent Magazine of Ohio from April 2003 to September 2004. Over twenty websites, such as Contemporary Moms, Bridges for Kids and About.com, linked to a column on their front page or posted specific Special Mommy Chronicles Columns/Articles on their website. Here is an image of one of the columns/articles printed in the magazine “Stress Free Living” of April 2003, and check out the image of another one of the column/articles published in the “Parent Paper”Read More

Ways to go…

I was adding a few things to the book I am currently writing about Nicky’s life, which is nowhere near done and I was stunned when I realized I already wrote almost 200 pages, and I have 10+ more years of stories to go. These are not 200 pages filled with overly descriptive anecdotes either, no mist over the window overlooking a tree with owls that made me realize the secret of life, ha ha, these are 200 pages of hard hitting reality, love without measure and life with EB. I wonder how thick this book going to get as I keep remembering things and add life stories beyond 2002. I love to write, it’s almost  part of me toRead More
